Moving to virgin from sky

So after trying for over two months to renegotiate my sky TV package and having no luck. I'm making the move to virgin. I've always been a sky man and was reluctant to leave. But basically virgin offered me ridiculously fast internet. BT sport in 4k which I don't currently have and everything I do currently have for £25 a month less and nothing at all to pay for the first three months.
I suppose my two questions are....will sky try to keep me and offer me a stupid deal to stay.... although I don't believe they can? The reason I ask this is because I won't be paying virgin for three months I can get that installed a week or two before my sky contract is terminated as I won't have overlapping bills, and I believe they work over different technologies so this should be ok. As I'm keen to avoid disruption and have no internet for a period etc...
And secondly....will I regret moving to virgin. I've always thought of them as a company riddled with issues and poor customer service etc....so any feedback on this would be good.
Thanks all.

I was with virgin and regretted it ever since, I am happier now that I’m not with them. The customer service team took ages to understand what ever I was on about. Every year you would see the price increase more and more it’s just not worth it in my opinion. I had the broadband, landline and tv services. Glad when I moved. My advice steer clear find a better deal elsewhere but each to their own. Good luck0

I was with Virgin for a few years, stressful to deal with from beginning to end.
Go with a reliable provider for a peaceful life in my opinion.0
