Solicitor Reading My Bank Statements

Hi.
Can a solicitor request to see my bank statements because I'm worried they'll report me or call the police as I've literally spent around £10 or so on food in Marks and Spencer every day for the past year. It is so regular they might think it is suspicious. I haven't made any other purchases on a regular basis except for this. Will it worry the solicitor during the house buying process?

Well, anybody can request absolutely anything. BUT nobody has to show anybody anything, if they really don't want to. (Unless you are under arrest, of course but that's another story.)Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Although I do carry out careful research before posting and never intend to mislead or supply out-of-date or incorrect information, please do not rely 100% on what you are reading. Verify everything in order to protect yourself as you are responsible for any action you consequently take.0

I'm assuming this guy is actually doing something dodgy with his money and is trying to figure out how likely he is to be found out/how to cover himself
