Quarantine on return from Spain

Hi
Today, our first minister Nicola Sturgeon announced that Scottish residents returning from Spain from 10th July would have to quarantine for 14 days on their return. We have Ryan Air flights from Liverpool booked but obviously cannot use them now as the quarantine on return makes it impossible for us to have our holiday. What can I do about the flights? Am I able to get some kind of refund based on that restrictions have been imposed on us and are not our choice, also I guess that the FCO will no doubt reflect the same info.
Any help much appreciated
Thank you
Chris

How does Nicola know where you flew from? Looks like a trip to England to me.

Indeed. Go and enjoy your holiday. FCO advice says its absolutely fine to go to Spain.0

Its a good point but she has warned against flying in and out via English airports and tbh I don't fancy the fine if caught, although not probable still possible, I don't trust my luckJGB1955 said:How does Nicola know where you flew from? Looks like a trip to England to me.0 -
How do you expect to be "caught"? She knows full well people can get around it by nipping down to Newcastle or whatever.

And she, Nicola Sturgeon. warned that people should not seek to "get around" the restrictions by travelling via English airports, insisting that the rules "are here for a reason".

no FCO guidance against travel to Spain. Maybe speak to your travel insurance company to see if your policy would cover (I suspect unlikely) then it is the choice to travel, pay to change your flights or to lose the money0

The cost to change is actually 25% more than the cost of the original flights plus whatever the difference of the new fare costs, it's looking unlikely that we will go, hey ho.. look forward to the next oneCaz3121 said:no FCO guidance against travel to Spain. Exactly, an admittance there is a loophole. Enjoy your holiday, OP.wkt54 said:And she, Nicola Sturgeon. warned that people should not seek to "get around" the restrictions by travelling via English airports, insisting that the rules "are here for a reason".1
