Well Women Insurance

Hi, first time posting. I'm after some advice please. I took out a Well women policy with American Life over 18 years ago, with a promise that if I did not make a claim within 15 years, I would be able to reclaim my money back plus interest. The company has changed hands many times from American Life - Allico - Reassure. I rang them earlier this year to ask about getting my money back as I hadn't claimed and they told me I wasn't intitled to it as that wasn't the policy I took out. My policy has been the same since I started although I can find all the letters from the start I don't seem to have the policy details. The only reason I took out the policy was because my father had died of cancer at a young age and I wanted some reassurance plus it was like a savings plan if I didn't claim. What can I do to get my money back? Has anyone else had the same problems??? Many Thanks

If you search on here there is a lot of mixed results on receiving the premiums back with some saying they got it automatically and others saying they've been told they weren't entitled to it.
What evidence do you have that you were told the premiums would be returned? Do you have the original policy wording? Did you buy it directly from them or was it bought through a broker or other intermediary?
Ultimately you need to register a complaint and follow their processes and refer to the FOS if you are still not happy but how likely the FOS will rule on your side depends on a combination of what evidence you have and how tightly your story ties in with what records ReAssure has in the absence of your own evidence.
