Meter readings for edf
I bought my electricity from OVO and in 2018 they installed a smart meter. All went well until I decided to switch to EDF in July 2019. I was on a dual tariff - but Edf said it was probably more expensive as I a) live alone and b) work from home - so used more daytime energy. I’ve tried taking readings from the now dumb liberty 100 meter although Edf can’t make it’s mind up whether I should be pressing 9 or 6. We’ve ended up with readings that suggest I’ve used three times the electricity than I did with ovo - yet nothing has changed for me usage wise. Does anyone have any suggestions? Edf now say I owe £342 despite paying £834 in monthly instalments. Btw I use oil for heating!
thanks in advance

I suspect you mean that you were on an Economy 7 tariff which would have used two registers to show your day and night units. If they have now got you on a single rate tariff you will still need to give them the readings from both registers. This should help...0

Thanks - I think I’ve already tried the second option but there’s no imp R02 reading. However, given your explanation is much clearer than Edf’s I will try again- if it ever stops raining!0

I wonder if there's been a jump from R1 or R2 to Total and you're being asked to pay for the imaginary sudden leap in consumption? Go back over previous bills and track R1/R2 and Total and compare to today.0

I've taken the readings yet again and no change. There are no R2 readings! I've sent the photos to EDF so I'll wait to hear back. Thanks for the input though!0
