Additional Work Payments

Hi I hope someone can shed some light, I have been furloughed since the last week of March and although receiving 80% of my Salary at the end of May I normally receive a 13th month payment, this was paid and then deducted back, when i questioned it with my company I was just told the maximum they could claim was £2,500, I read somewhere that the company cannot claim and does not need to pay out for any bonuses, but this is a contractual payment made twice a year, had i been on leave that month(which they automatically cancelled) or off sick I would have been entitled to that payment. My question really is should my company be paying me that money regardless of what they claim from the government or am i not entitled to it as I've been furloughed.

What does your contract say about this payment, and what did the letter you had when your were furloughed say?

If the payment was a contractual entitlement *and* depending on th wording of the furlough letter, you *might* still be entitled to it, however, if it is discretionary or if the letter said that you would be paid £xxx per month in lieu of your normal payments then you probably aren't - the furlough letter is a variation of your contract
