Travelodge Saver Rate Voucher

I booked a travel lodge but this booking was cancelled and a voucher issued no refund was available as I had booked saver rate. However my only issue is the voucher has to be used before end of December 2020. It highly I will be able use this before then. The attraction we were visiting is not owning any time soon and I anticipate it will be impossible to get booked back in for it this year. As this is a coronavirus issue is it fair that they can insist I need to use it before then? What do you think my rights will be?

The hotel wont give a stuff if the "attraction" is closed and exactly the same would apply in reverse, your rights are absolutely nil in this case. You have 6 months to use the voucher, presumably in any Travelodge in the country, which to my mind is more tham acceptable.

Especialy given you say you only have to use it by then, and 2021 availability will be online by then.

My understanding of the terms and conditions of the saver rate voucher is that the original booking had to be between 19th March and the end of December 2020. The voucher is valid until December 2021 as per their terms attached to the emailed voucher below.

Conditions for redeeming a voucher:

The voucher issued to you by email (as described above) may be used for any new booking for a stay at any Travelodge hotel in mainland UK between 19 March 2020 and 30 December 2021.   After applying the voucher, and if the new booking complies with these terms and conditions, a new discounted value will be displayed on our website before you proceed to pay for the booking.

Thanks so much I had read the t&c’s so many times was sure it said I had to use the voucher for a stay before December 30 2020. I have re read again and seen what you have quoted above. Thanks!
