Morning all, I have been up for a while honest! In fact up since before eight, just been pottering, showering, eating toast [with apricot jam , my favourite] and drinking tea.The room move around didn't happen yesterday mostly because not our cat was asleep on the two seater and we didn't want to move him. And we were too lazy.I did make bread and this time only made one mistake. I put it in the top grill/oven instead of the bottom one and there wasn't enough room for it to go up, so I had to yank it out halfway through because it was so high it was stopping the heat from circulating and was starting to burn on one side. So it's slightly misshapen now. Tastes nice though. I used half white half seeded this time. Will attempt third time lucky tomorrow or the next day.Well, first day of freedom and I've not done a lot with it except put in pots some catmint I found growing in the gravel tomato trays, take the sideshoots off the tomatoes and exchange pepper and chilli pics with a friend who gave me peppers and I her chillies. Her peppers are doing great for me, not so much for her, and my chillies, vice versa. I'll go and feed and water them in a bit. Other than that, I don't see much getting done.I did 'win' a chandelier type metal light fitting on ebay for a fiver that was local yesterday and fetched it. I also spied a skip while I was there [ she came out, deposited it in my boot and I gave her a bag of pound coins] and took some wood for it. I need to make a small wood store. The light fitting will be painted [ it's black and verdigris at the moment] and replace one of the fifties atomic spaceship lights in the living room which can then be sold on ebay.Gers, may be an idea to go and see the ward sister and ask them what's going on. They'll have more of a consistent idea and information. Or phone them. Nels, enjoy the teaching of sucking eggs. Ruby, maybe you need something stronger to help you sleep. With whats going with your daughter and you it's got to be extremely stressful. Milicent, I miss eating out too, months of having to think about it every day have left me a bit clueless..Am slowly getting the OH involved though...Nanny, well, let's hope we can both get through them...I'll do something if you do something although to be fair, you're always doing something! Hi everyone
Just been having a catch up with my lunch. I've been to work this morning and this afternoon I'm getting my hair cut!! So pleased as it's such a mess - I've cut some bits off at the front but the back is so bushy....it'll feel so much lighter.
Nice and sunny here today and quite warm so I'm planning to sit outside and read when I get home.
Hope you all have a good day10

So much for my sleeping plan! As Rabbie Burns said 'The best laid schemes o' mice an' men gang aft a-gley.' A text from DM said that she was being moved again so I phoned the ward - she's not being moved, just taken to theatre to have what they are calling a 'trip line' inserted so that the ABs can be administered by IV as the cannula got pulled out. I've been back to the hospital to deliver clean nightwear and collect dirty stuff. The 'big bag of washing turned out to be one nightie and one pair of knickers. On the way home I thought I'd go to Costco, changed my mind when I got there as the queue was three lines long snaking up and down the carpark. It's probably because holiday accommodation and second homes are now opened up again. I settled for the big Tesco across the road. There's so much activity happening here! It makes me feel guilty, though only slightly. On the way home I thought I'd go to Costco, changed my mind when I got there as the queue was three lines long snaking up and down the carpark. Good afternoon everyone
It's been chucking it down all morning but now the sun is out for a bit. I have been dozing away like a proper old granny off and on all morning. I am still not sleeping well at night and have got into this silly pattern of nanna napping through the day. While I have been awake I have nearly finished knitting a little doll to go in the monkey bags I made for my nieces that are coming to visit on the weekend. It has been a week for family visiting as I saw my sister on Monday, my mum came to see me yesterday and my sister from Wales has finally been released from lockdown so she and her children are coming to stay with yet another sister on the weekend to house hunt and spend time with all of us. I am so happy.
Gers, don't feel guilty even slightly, my activity levels would put a sloth to shame. The only movement I do most days is moving my arms when I knit , oh and eating and drinking. I hope your mum is feeling a bit more comfortable today xx , oh and eating and drinking. I hope your mum is feeling a bit more comfortable today xx
I am a bit jealous of all of you getting haircuts, my hairdresser isn't back at work yet so I have to wait for her to start doing home visits again. I bet she will be booked up quickly, I might ask Bobby's groomer if she can fit me in . Poor Lee is absolutely desperate too as he normally has a very short hairstyle and now it is collar length and very curly and thick. . I think we are having sausage and chips for tea so that is nice and boring. I did buy profiteroles for the kids for their dessert so I expect some happy faces later. I am going to make a trifle for Steve and myself as he can't have lactose so I will make it Steve-friendly. It will still taste lovely so that will be ok.
Right, I am going back to watch something on tv whilst I finish off the dolls dress. Hopefully I will manage to stay awake long enough to make it. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

            Afternoon all,
Wet here again today, had our knitting meeting this am and then met DGS2 for lunch.....he is very uptight as has been out of school since March, doing his assignments but he is going into last year of school and doesn't really know what he wants to do......he thinks psychology but not sure that he will get the grades needed. I have advised that he go with psychology as a subsidiary for first year, with English and Gaelic and then see what turns up at the end of that. I have also advised that he do his best and stop worrying..........advice that he may or may not take....I just want him as relaxed as possible.
Ruby....I hope that things work out well for DD.......and that her ex gets what's coming to him. Look after yourself pet.
Dumpling.....what a lovely " crop " of visitors....we seem to have seen nobody for ages, hope for relaxation of rules after 20th..
Gers.....hope that your DM recovers soon, hospital bans on visiting are very difficult for patients and relatives.
 Stay safe and well everybody.
