Morning all,

I started a switch from Eon to Avro on the 18th of last month.
Eon call me on the 23rd and offer a better deal (they were planning to up the monthly from £68 to £110! They now say they'll keep us on the £68 plan.
Tried to call Avro to cancel the switch, impossible to get through on the phone so email them.  I hear nothing back.
I call Eon yesterday and find out that the switch is still on going for the 17th of this month!  Eon say they can't cancel the switch, I have to get Avro to do it.
Still impossible to get anyone on the phone at Avro, so I've emailed them again...
How can I get this cancelled if Avro just keep ignoring emails?????

Thanks. . .

Not a direct answer to your question, but keeping you on the '£68 plan' is meaningless if the cost of the energy you use is more than £68...
Compare the charges per kWh and the daily standing charge between E.ON and Avro, then decide if you still want to cancel...

If email and phone is being ignored then write to them, mark the letter on the outside 'Complaint' & 'Switch Cancellation' and get a proof of posting receipt from the post office when you mail it.
Beyond that there isn't a lot more you can do.

Jon_01  - I am sure you realise that your tariff is not an all-can-eat one and you will only pay a fixed DD. If you use more it will cost more. I don't understand the Eon figures.
What ACTUAL annual figures are you using ?

To those referring to the ongoing costs, we are in credit with Eon, which is why I coouldn't understand why they wanted to almost double the monthly fee?
I got the old standby of 'It must have been a computer error' line...

The same way I it has been for as long as I can remember.
You have 14 calander days to cancel the switch, and as you applied on the 18th of last month, this has presumably now expired.
But you suggest Eon got wind of the application within 5 days and actually went to the trouble of calling you to te,pt you to stay with them?
So did they not explain they could block the switch there and then, or have you waited until today to make your decision, in which case it;'s too late.

However, a recent change is that the switch should have been completed within 15 working days, so if it's not going to happen until the 17th of this month, you may be in for automatic compo!

Then switch again once the switch occurs, if that is what you want to do. Should be able to get some possible cashback for switching back to Eon too!

Looks like I'm going to have to switch. Just had an email from Avro saying, as above, I'm out of the cooling off period.
I've been trying to contact Arvo for about 10 days. The first email I sent (when the call center wasn't taking calls) was 10 days ago. No reply, tried to call again, 'no agents available...' and get cut off...
So, they can ignore emails and make it impossible to call them and then say it's too late???  Is that really an acceptable way to conduct business ?

Jon_01    But which is the better deal ?  Avro may still prove to be the best. It's Eon who has put a spanner in the works with an unjustified new DD.

I am having an issue with orbit energy at the moment ..
Joined them in principle on 30/06/20, with cooling off period . My current provider EDF
blocked the move . Plus I decided I didn't want to proceed with switch from EDF
I sent a few emails ,with no response. I assumed then maybe it was corona virus effect delaying things .
Just a few mins ago, I get an email from orbit with advisers name telling me they are going to keep trying to switch . I replied to him , saying I am not going ahead .I have direct debit payments sceduled etc .
I've just gone onto the bills section , found the email address for complaints and asked them to please stop the switch and send me email address confirming .
May be of use to somebody..

The E.on is the better deal.
Arvo don't care that they can't be contacted or that they don't reply to an email to cancel. I'm told that as they can't find the email I sent to cancel as far as they are concerned I didn't send it.   If this is the level of customer service before the switch I shudder to think what it'll be like after!
All they say is I can switch again after I come over to them!
