Kids High Sleeper

We have been offered a lovely high sleeper for my 9 year old daughter. It has a wardrobe and a desk and my daughter has been wanting one for ages in her small bedroom.
They haven't got the instructions for putting it up (and me and hubby are quite worried as we are both rubbish at DIY). It is an Atlas High sleeper...does anyone know how we can get the instructions? I've got visions of it falling down in the middle of the night.
Also.....The wardrobe end will block half the window (its the only shame about it) and the ladder will also be about a foot away from the window which is really worrying me.
The window is double glazed and we only ever have the top small window open, but i'm worried she will loose her footing and fall through the double glazed window. My hubby thinks i'm being daft. Do any of your kids have a high sleeper or bunk bed with the ladders near the window...do you worry also or am i just being silly?

Are you sure you cant put the wardrobe and/or ladder at the other side?:)
Once someone comes up with a set of instructions for you, hopefully you'll be able to answer that:)*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***
If I don't reply to you, I haven't looked back at the thread.....PM me

If you know who the manufacturer is,try contacting them direct and asking for a copy of the instructions. Or google ,and see if a copy is available to download from manufacturer.0

I've tried to google for the instruction without success. All i know is it is an Atlas High Sleeper.
Would you all be worried about the window being close?0 -
We have a bunk bed with the ladder next to the window. The youngest (9) is on the top bunk. No problems so far.
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
I'd contact the manufacturer for instructions - and - to find out if it is reversible.
Yes it would worry me about the window.
1) Kids are curious and find the silliest of things amusing, like hanging out the limited window opening to wave at friends
2) What about being able to get out quickly in a fire at 2.30am
I take it this is the unit: http://image.abcaz.co.uk/productimages/167/4745895.jpg0 -
My DS had a high sleeper, which is now dismantled. I've still got the metal ladder, which has hooks for putting it over the bed at any point along it. PM me if you want, and if you're not far away you are welcome to it.I Believe in saving money!!!:T

I used to have a High Sleeper with the ladder by the window and never fell out - even if she did fall against the window double glazing is very strong and can generally only be broken by purposeful smashing with a sharp object near the corners.
The wardrobe blocking the light may be an issue though. Could the wardrobe go somewhere else in the room? They are usually not fixed to the bed structure.
Also - me and my sister had a bunk bed that was dismantled and put back together loads of times - by the end it was really rickety, but as teenagers we still jumped around on it and gave it hell and it never collapsed.I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0 -
not trying to put a dampner on things but i have 2 sets of normal height bunkbeds ( so not as tall as what you are getting)and i absolutely hate making the beds:rotfl: are you happy to keep climbing the ladders to change the bedding etc...:rotfl: :eek:0

Thanks for all your replies. I know making the beds are hard as we used to have bunk beds (not looking forward to it).0

Just to let you know...my friends husband who was giving us the bed, came round and put it up for us (i'm so grateful) and the bed ended up approx 2 ft away from the window so i'm not worried about her falling through the window now.
It is wonderful and my daughter loves it. I can't believe we are so lucky to have it for free...what kind people they are.
Anyway, i just thought i'd let you kind people know.0
