Unfair Parking Charge Notice

Options
Hi, last year I parked my partners car in a private car park.  I paid for an hours parking but needed extra time so paid for another hour.  There was, however, a 6 minute gap as my first ticket ran out at 13:11 and I purchased my second ticket at 13:17.  The reason for the gap was that I was busy with my daughter so was a little late getting back to pay for my second hour.  A couple of days later I received a parking charge notice from Parking Eye.  I replied immediately, disputing the charge, with photos of the tickets, proving that I had paid for two hours parking.  I also took a screen shot, showing that I had appealed.  Parking Eye never responded but a while later I received another notice.  I did not reply as they had not responded to my appeal.  Recently I received a letter from a collection/bailiff company saying the charge has been increased from £25 to £170.  I replied, again with a photo of the tickets and a screenshot, showing I had previously appealed, attached.  However, the collection/bailiff company say that Parking Eye say the charge still stands.
Any advice?
I feel the charge is completely unfair and I have proof that I paid for two hours.
How much is it likely to cost me if I have to go to court to challenge them?

If it's with debt collectors (not bailiffs in this context) it's unlikely to come to anything. PE only pass to debt collectors when they've run out of road.

Please read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, fourth post, about how to deal with debt collectors. Also do a forum search on keywords 'ParkingEye DCBL' and 'ParkingEye Equita' and give yourself some comfort.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Who is the debt collection company? Is it DCBL? If so, are they acting as debt collectors? You will know this if the letters say the company is not acting as a result of high court action.

Why didn;t you appeal to POPLA at the time, did you get a rejection letter with POPPLA code, or not?

Which car park is it please, that only has £25 to pay?  Is it £50 full parking charge but £25 discounted?

    Where please?

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up later this year,

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these companies, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Complain to Sainsburys, of course.  This is discrimination, now they know she is disabled.
