New front door - Accoya, Solidoor, Rockdoor, or...?

We need to replace our front door and frame before the winter so I've been looking around and getting quotes. The front door faces north and gets alllll the weather the Pennines can throw at it - think water coming through the letterbox and keyhole, glass cracking with the wind, snow building up against it etc. Crime's relatively low around here but security features are nice.
My partner wants Upvc for the seal around the edge and not having to paint it. I've had my head turned by some very pretty traditional Accoya doors. Metal isn't an option because of the house style (1700s cottage). The reviews of composite doors warping are a worry and because the door opening is slightly narrow we wouldn't be able to get the design we want (in Rockdoor anyway). I could compromise on design though if they are otherwise ok.
In my position and the door's position, what would you choose?

1700s cottage. So, a nice oak door, maybe? Routed round the edge and some draft proofing inserted. Same in the frame. Varnished. Perfect.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I should say, the house isn't listed, isn't in a conservation area and isn't particularly pretty from the front!0

Don't make it worse.
Look, I'm just saying what I'd do, but I'm an old fogey, so take no notice.

We had a DoorStop composite front door fitted 3 years for £800, very impressed with it. Fitted by a local guy in Essex and had no issues with it. We live in a not very pretty 1930’s semi but it looks great (went for a oak coloured door with 3 frosted windows down the middle of it)0
