Free public transport for over 60s

Why is it unfair that over 60s should be expected to pay for things they use? They're already richer than many of the working people who you want to pay for this out of their taxes.

The elderly are a menace on the roads, best to get them out their cars and onto public transport

and you are confusing "the retired" with "people reaching state pension age" !

(and also getting confused about the current state pension age)

I speak as someone whose been happily "retired" for three years now, but not due to reach state pension age until 2026, on my 66th birthday (anyone a little younger than me will have an SRA of somewhere between 66 and 67).
