If you live in London, Scotland NI and Wales you get free public transport when you pass 60 years old.
why don’t the rest of use get the same deal. This is very unfair.

How is it funded for London?

Er, no you don't. The national bus pass scheme kicks in at state pension age. In London those between 60 and state pension age can buy a pass that gives the same advantages. In London those passes also give travel on TfL services such as tubes and trams. Other councils add benefits to the bus pass - when I was in Manchester a few years ago I discovered that their 'bus' pass also covered local trams.

It is funded by the GLA and they are funded by sources of income, such as specific government grants and fares income.Norman_Castle said:How is it funded for London?0 -
In Wales bus transport is free, through the bus pass - only a small proportion of rail travel is free.0

But is that from the age of 60?bonkersbonkers1 said:In Wales bus transport is free, through the bus pass - only a small proportion of rail travel is free.0 -

Why is it unfair that over 60s should be expected to pay for things they use? They're already richer than many of the working people who you want to pay for this out of their taxes.lehapau said:If you live in London, Scotland NI and Wales you get free public transport when you pass 60 years old.

Over 60s in Merseyside also qualify for free off-peak travel on trans buses and ferries. Funded by Merseytravel from the tolls on the Mersey tunnels! Sadly I live 200 yards outside the Merseyside area in Lancashire!1

You are confusing "over 60's" with "the retired" ie over 67 now !stragglebod said:
