hi hi a relative cancelled their wedding due to C19 after we booked hotel rooms. Are we entitled to a refund or will insurance cover us?
Your help much appreciated

Neither probably, unless the rooms are no longer available, in which case it will be a straight refund.

Unless you paid for a flexible booking that allows cancellations.

if the hotel is open then you can still go and stay there. If you don't go then it is your own "disinclination to travel" and you lose your money.

    Insurance unlikley to cover it.
Best bet would be to ask the hotel if for a goodwill refund or voucher. They don't have to though.

EDIT - although like ZX81 said - the booking might have been "flexible" which means you can cancel or change it - but depends on the type of booking you made?

Since we can't see your booking terms, we cannot tell you what they state about cancellation.
Most unlikely to be covered by any insurance, as you can travel, and the rooms are available. But again, refer to the t and c's.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
