If you have a protective registration then this should simply never have happened. The protective marker is there to show you may be at risk of ID fraud and any lender receiving an application in your name should make extra checks to make sure it's actually you who is requesting credit. It's designed to prevent this exact scenario happening.
Certainly do not engage with their ridiculous requests for photo's of you holding ID. Make an official complaint with Oodle explaining the application was fradulent and what you want them to do. If your not satisfied with their response then take the complaint to the Ombudsman.

I made an official complaint @kaMelo , this request was part of their response from a Junior Fraud Analyst as part of dealing with the complaint.
What I find infuriating is they are treating me like a criminal and have now made my life miserable. CIFAS is honestly the worst thing that can happen to your credit.0 -
It's infuriating but unfortunately there is not much you can do to speed things up. The complaint has to run it's course before the ombudsman can get involved or eight weeks pass. All I would suggest is to keep all documentation showing the effect this is having on you. Should it need to go to the ombudsman it should help in determining an appropriate level of restitution to offset their failure to take notice of a CIFAS protective registration.

celticmeltic said:@george9071 True. I'm worried my business account provider Starling Bank is going to return all the funds to the client. Imagine having that awkward conversation with my client on returned funds.
I haven't got a basic account no, I tried applying elsewhere online (TSB), same story. Account opened, card issued, account blockedTried Monzo - They say they can't offer an account to me.
I am royally screwed over.

@pcman1985 That's the only reason I can think of. I've never had a Monzo account and my partner has one that she doesn't really use (but is still open).

Really sorry to hear about this.
Firstly - a comment that it's possible that Monzo have tightened restrictions more recently, we just don't know.
Secondly - as noted, keep full information on how its affected you.
Last thing - (probably not yet) but you may want to consider potentially contacting one of the papers "money people" in the future. They often get a resolution as someone in the company with a brain looks into things when they realise there could be damage to their reputation.Peter
Debt free - finally finished paying off £20k + Interest.1 -
I SAR'd national hunter today and saw that among many other innocent looking reports that say"Clear" (Not sure why things are reported to national hunter if they are not suspect.), OODLE CAR FINANCE has placed a "REFER - FALSIFIED DOCUMENTS" marker on there as well. Absolute a**holes0

UPDATE : OODLE completed their investigation and are UPHOLDING the CIFAS marker loading. They are convinced that I applied for the loan myself with a fake name and fake documents.
I have a final response letter. I'll proceed to the ombudsman?0 -
