LoveHolidays holiday imminent

holiday booked for 24 July, messaged LoveHolidays to say we wish to move holiday to next year, deposit already taken, received message today to saybalance due on 10 July, no reply to my request to move holiday. Looked at cancelling but huge cost. Husband wants to ask his bank to block LH from taking balance but I think we should let payment go through and ask for refund. We guess they will keep the deposit for pushing the holiday to next year and agree to that. Unable like others to call or live chat as there doesn't seem to be a link on their website. Anyone else in this position? Thanking you in advance for any advice.

With a departure date of 24/7, then you'll probably face a bill for the entire cost if you cancel now. Not just the deposit. Whether they would pursue you through legal action for the balance, nobody knows, but unless the terms specifically offer it, you can't assume that they'll just rebook you into next year and retain your deposit.
From their perspective, the rooms and flights are paid for and probably can't be resold or recovered now: their loss is much more than the deposit.
Your card provider or travel insurer won't be able to help you, unless you have good reason not to travel, such as medical reasons. No free lunch, and no free laptop

We tried filling out the cancellation option a few days ago to see how much, it was a bit more than the deposit - the majority of the cancellation fee was for cancelled flights, £75 admin fee from LH and a few quid for other things (can't remember) we probably should have cancelled....0

That doesn't seem unreasonable, given the departure date in 16 days, but the nearer you get, the more it may cost.
Or you can sit tight and hope that flights or hotel are cancelled. No one knows. No free lunch, and no free laptop
