I am in a similar situation looking to move end of August/September. So all that will happen for us would be we delay as our sellers will want to probably do the same. Luckily there is no chain but it won't help anyone us delaying till October if that was the date. Surely to keep people in jobs in Solicitors and estate agents it needs to come in within a week or two . Otherwise if you owned an estate agents are you going to pay your staff with no completions for 3/4 months . You can't furlough them so won't they make cuts and reduce their costs ?. The same with conveyancing solicitors the odd search to do but no completions for months would you be paying staff to sit around and not bring in any costs ?.
Surely the government have thought about this and not another lift the carpet and sweep it under !!!1 -
We would save £9250. Hoping to exchange and complete later this month. A future planned relief would not make me delay as we are desperate to get in and have factored in the Stamp Duty. Would just be a nice bonus if we didn't have to pay it. But I agree that it needs to be announced as an immediate relief, not a future one.0

Uuugh! We completed 2 weeks ago. Is there any way to apply for retrospective rebate? It's all be DURING the COVID pandemic...would get us 15K back if there is a channel through which to apply.0
