Travel insurance help needed

I bought annual travel insurance on the 5th March, but got it to start on the 5th April as my old travel insurance was running out. Went to claim for missing my holiday in June, but travel insurance won't pay out as they say their terms changed on the 17 March. I purchased the policy before that date even though I didn't want the policy to start then. Also no notification about any changes. Do I have any rights?
Thanks

There is another thread here with a similar story if you search the comments for it may well apply to you as well. Was it the same company you had it with last year?

Unfortunately not as it was much more expensive

Make claim after 5th April (which we are now obviously) and they cannot change the terms of the policy after you purchased it. It is the same as changing the price after somebody has paid and trying to charge them more later because you feel you sold it too cheaply. Who was the insurance policy with may I ask?

Coverwise, but they are underwrote by AXA.
We had a holiday booked for the 22nd June, but will not pay for the cancelled trip as they reckon that their term change covers them to do so.

Here’s the previous thread I told you about. Nobody’s entirely sure how it would play out. You would need to complain and then go to the ombudsman for a ruling, but the consensus is that you wouldn’t be covered. It was extremely bad timing for both of you.
