My brother had his own business and died nearly 4 years ago. My sister in law is moving and there is so much business paperwork everywhere. What i would like to know does she have to save all this paperwork for 6 years even though my brother died years ago? Comments would be most welcome, thank you.

The executors should retain necessary business records for 6 years, and the estate accounts for twenty years.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.1

What happened to the business at the time of his death. He had been so poorly for the last 2 years of his life that he really didnt do anything much. Just seems so silly that he has died and yet my sis in law has to keep all the paperwork. I Think what we will do is keep paperwork from 2014 and throw the rest. She really had no interest in the business and even less interest in keeping old paperwork! The business folded on his death, as he was the business.
The executors should retain necessary business records for 6 years - Blimey that being me i dont want it either!!
Thanks for your comments xx
