HSBC mortgage appointment
Comments
-
Just spoke to a broker for some advice and told them about the HSBC interview in 2 weeks time. The broker told me not to worry as HSBC are not being more strict, they just don't have the capacity to actually process anything.
So that is reassuring that when we get to the interview it might not be too bad?
Anyway, who knows there may be a bunch more mortgage products available by then anyway0 -
**Update for anyone waiting for appointment**
Had my appointment today. It lasted less than the 2 hours as I was pretty clear on the product I wanted and why. The advisor was fantastic, really making things clear and answering my questions. I've been approved for a shorter term than I had put on the DIP so really pleased with that. The advisor said my application didn't need to be sent to the underwriters and she could approve it herself which will be done by Friday. I was asked to provide my ID and proof of address in branch as I couldn't be verified electronically (probably because I've moved recently), so I've popped into branch to do this straight away. The advisor said the valuation will be instructed within 48 hours. They will try to do it electronically first but will contact the estate agent if they need to do a physical valuation. I think a physical valuation is more likely but we'll see. After the appointment, the adviser emailed me so I have a direct point of contact for any questions. Overall, really pleased with how straightforward it was and pleased with the outcome so far.2 -

Just got to hope the valuation is ok now. Worried because I recently tried to buy a different house but it was valued at zero so had to pull out. That was with Virgin money, couldn't go with them again cos they pulled their 90% mortgages. Hopefully this valuation goes better.0 -

jamesm5094 - I think the quickest way would be to call them as the advisors are really good.0

I have already populated a lot of the information online but the mortgage advisor was just asking me to confirm the info. She also spent a lot of time reading me some of the T&Cs which she can't skip. I had a joint application so I presume it would be slightly quicker if you're applying as the sole applicant. I got the DIP on the day and the actual mortgage offer came about two weeks later after it has been "referred manually".
Good luck!
I believe they only did a desktop valuation.0
