How many of you are actually flying abroad in July?

I am due to fly to Malaga on the 19th of July 2020 with my 13 Year old son for 5 nights in Fuengirola. At first I was hoping it would be cancelled but I eventually came round to the idea of going. I have emailed the Hotel & it is open for business & jet2 look to be flying but they have changed my departure time which they still haven't confirmed as of yet.
I must admit that I am a little apprehensive & slightly concerned that I may not be doing the right thing. I am not a regularly flyer & at 41 years of age this is only my 3rd Holiday abroad so I am still relatively new to flying anyway.
As I'm sure you're aware Social Media is a wash with different opinion's on whether it is safe or not & more so now that there have been 2 lockdowns in Spain. I see a lot of negative comments but rarely comments from people who are actually flying abroad in July so I would just like see what peoples opinions are & if you're planning on flying in the near future?

I would have gone if my flights were still going and the country allowed me in. Sadly for me it doesn’t.
i think only you can assess the risk, is your health good? Do you have contact with more vulnerable people at home? Could you isolate for a while on your return for your own peace of mind? Where are you going and what are their figures like? Will you be based on one place or travelling round? Self catering/restaurants etc everyone’s risk factors will be different. For me if it means not going through the stressful months of waiting for refunds I would go just on that basis! Good luck.

Not July but very early August..
August 2nd-3rd Luxembourg - BA from Edinburgh via LHR
August 9th-13th Port Adventura Spain - BA from LHR1 -
Yeah I have been considering all the risks. I have a couple of medical issues but I have already spoken with my GP & specialist who both say I am at low risk of complications & no higher than the general population. Good blood pressure, good weight, healthy lifestyle etc. I live with my 13 year old Son will not be coming into contact with any vulnerable people. I work in an office which is very Covid secure, screens, temperature taken, deep cleaned etc & I can also work from home if need be. We are flying to Malaga but staying in Fuengirola which have only had 4 confirmed cases & 0 deaths which I only just found out & those figures were from the end of March & are still current now. I never thought to check this so thanks! We will be self catering & will be occasionally visiting a restaurant but no more than a few times. I don't drink so no bars etc. We like to get up early & walk around the city & beach all day & I have said to me Son that we will wear a mask as much as possible. So I guess looking at those figures the risk is low & an higher risk on the plane & getting from Malaga to the Hotel.gillian3011 said:I would have gone if my flights were still going and the country allowed me in. As long as you take certain precautions why not go.1

Well I am going to Luxembourg to buy about 3000 B&H Gold - so just a quick trip - only 100 dead due to the pandemic and everything is about back to normal.bflare said:

Port Aventura is a substitute "taster trip" in place of my USA Holiday which LM.com have not cancelled yet despite BA contacting me direct to tell me the flights had been cancelled in and out.
Not worried at all I have been working since Day 1 of the pandemic and so has my Son - both Key Workers.1 -
I booked last year for 21st July and Thomas Cook went down the pan. Luckily I got EasyJet flights for the same time and up until now they're still going ahead.
Because of where we're staying I'm not too fussed about Covid-19 as we're pretty isolated.
Fortunately I've been working all the way through lockdown from home and will be until after new year. I need a break away from home 😭1 -
The figures where we re going are extremely low & no deaths. In fact there have been more deaths from the common cold in the Town according to the website I am looking at.gRoberts said:I booked last year for 21st July and Thomas Cook went down the pan. I have been working from home since the end of March & home schooling my 13 year old so I need a break away from home too & it looks more risky here in Leeds than it does where we are going
