FCO and Cyprus

Hi,
Can anyone tell me where I stand as the FCO says it is ok to travel to Cyprus but Cyprus will not allow UK tourists in July. Is this still an automatic refund by ABTA/ATOL? It is a package holiday.

In the attempt to back pedal from the late and ill thought out quarantine decision the U.K. Government have made yet another hash of the situation. The list of 74 countries you can go on holiday to (which include several which have never had direct air service from the U.K.) and not be quarantined upon your return failed to make clear that around 2/3 of the list countries still has a restriction on U.K. nationals travelling to them. Cyprus is one of these.  Still why let clear direction and clarity get in the way of some positive spin from #10.

If you have a true package holiday with a company like TUI or Jet2Holidays, I believe they have said that if your holiday is significantly different from what you have booked and you would face quarantine restrictions in your holiday destination then they would allow you to change or cancel without penalty.  

Not sure when you are due to travel but I do suspect more countries will shortly ease entry restrictions for U.K. nationals.  I feel sure Cyprus would be one on the list to do just his.
