Sports direct refund help

Hi, I brought a pair of trainers from sports direct but had to return them.
I used the return label sent with the trainers and went to the post office paid for postage and got a certificate of posting just like they say to do.
forgot about it for a bit then realised I had not got my refund yet. So contact customer service and they say they haven’t a record of receiving the trainers . I check tracking number and Royal Mail confirmation of delivery and it was delivered to them . Sports direct respond by saying they have no record of it on the system. And to claim from Royal Mail .
Is this correct or do sports direct have a responsibility to refund me as I provided proof of delivery ?
any advice would be appreciated

Personally I’d be pressuring sports direct again and staying it was received at their end it’s not your problem. Was it signed by anyone? Most likely Royal Mail will look at it see it bright received at Sports Direct not sure if they will take it further with them tho.
For claims with RM you have to do it ASAP I understand there’s a time limit.

If you have proof that it arrived at the correct destination then raise a chargeback claim with your card provider. SD's inefficiencies are not your concern.3

Thank you for the advice, I did end up doing a chargeback claim and had my refund within 4 hours. Will never order online from sports direct again after this experience. Appalling customer service2
