Requesting 0% Offer

I've got a couple of credit cards that have no balances on them. 5 years ago, I called to cancel a Halifax credit card and was offered a 0% 12 month deal if I stayed with them.

Does this type of "last minute sales pitch" still happen? I'm hesitant to delete any credit cards as my utilisation will then appear higher over my whole credit file, but a 0% deal would save me a lot of money in the interim. Applying for new credit cards is not an option. I'm maxed out on what I can get, and with the current pandemic, most lenders seem to have stopped lending!

One of the cards is with Tesco, and the other is with MBNA.

Worst they can say is no.  I'm still getting half decent offers from MBNA but only cleared my last BT a couple of months ago.
