New search on credit file

Hello,
My husband made a purchase from Argos over the weekend and has chosen to pay for it interest free over 6 months. This involved a credit search before being approved.
I've been notified that a hard search by Argos has been added to my credit score. I called Argos and they said its because we have a joint debit account (we don't have any joint credit). This has never happened with any of our previous credit applications - is this normal? He didn't provide them with any of my details, so all very confusing.

Yes it’s normal.
Of you’re financially linked/associated then a lender can search either one of your files when an application is made.0 -
Okay, thank you. Never come across it before.0
