8.4million 'PCNs' were issued by private parking firms this past year - a huge 24% increase

8.4 million 'PCNs' were issued by private parking firms this financial year (in 2018-19 6.8 million were issued).
By way of comparison, at the end of September 2019, there were 38.9 million licensed vehicles in Great Britain so by my reckoning, every year you now have a higher than one in five likelihood of getting an extortionate fake fine from this moneygrabbing industry.
The greed and growth of this industry is astonishing. A fake PCN is issued every FOUR SECONDS.
That has to stop.
The damage being done to consumer wealth and their peace of mind, and to shops, hotels, pubs and local retail parks as well as hounded hospital visitors and people being 'fined' in their own spaces at home, is sickening.
Supermarkets and managing agents of residential estates should be ashamed for letting such firms loose on the consumer captive audiences that surely, they really wished to protect.
The first Supermarket to make itself PPC-free will find they never needed them and business will boom, mark my words.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

8.4 million aplications to the DVLA , many , many tickets are simply paid when a ticket is gound on a windscreen . and the dvla are not involved , so maybe add 30 - 50 % more tickets than the RAC FOUNDATION mention6

Absolutely. 8.4 million might not be the tip of the iceberg, but it's definitely not the whole iceberg.twhitehousescat said:8.4 million aplications to the DVLA , many , many tickets are simply paid when a ticket is gound on a windscreen . and the dvla are not involved , so maybe add 30 - 50 % more tickets than the RAC FOUNDATION mentionPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I'm hoping to get a "double dip" from my local shopping centre . I went there twice the other day but have receipts for 2 shops 12 miles away during the possible double dip period and access to independent anpr and CCTV footage proving I was elsewhere. I'm looking forward to having some fun .Ex forum ambassador

I guess the DVLA think the public are stupid ..... of course they make a profit.
It's all automated, maybe they refer to bandwidth but hey, they have the wrong internet provider, we all get unlimited data for some £30 per month or less on broadband.
Why do we accept these lies ?
Maybe the infamous Robert Jenrick will read the article ... or is he too busy making excuses for his "cash for favours".. scam ???3 -

Only really satisfying if they take you to court. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
You know you probably won't get one as you are adequately equipped to deal with it; it is the unsuspecting, uneducated (and I mean that in the nicest sense) motorists that will fall victim to this scam. I went to my local supermarket last week for some hummus and later had to go back for some taramasalata; is this a double-dip - I'll get me coat!Browntoa said:I'm hoping to get a "double dip" from my local shopping centre . Further to this point, and on a quick and dirty scan of the BPA AOS list, 38/117 PPCs rely on 'ticketing' only - no ANPR. That's almost one third of all BPA PPCs. Similar comparisons couldn't be made for the IPC AOS operators as such details don't appear on their list, but I think it can be confidently said that 8.4 million is far from the real total figure.twhitehousescat said:8.4 million aplications to the DVLA , many , many tickets are simply paid when a ticket is gound on a windscreen . and the dvla are not involved , so maybe add 30 - 50 % more tickets than the RAC FOUNDATION mentionPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. There should be zero tolerance for double dips, starting with a GDPR notice sent to the landowner where appropriateFrom the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"3 -
There are many people out there on the breadline. A £100.00 claim would probably escalate to nearly double. It's a disgusting industry.

Had to laugh today, in the Daily Mail, Jeremy Clarkson referred to Boris as a "Talking Teddy Bear"
If that's true, a word in Jenrick's shell like ear might be a good idea2
