Redundancy pay on part time basis?

So I've got the dreaded news that I am being made redundant. I've been with the company for 6 years and have always worked full-time until last year when I asked them to change my work to part time (3 days instead of 5 days a week) to accommodate childcare needs. My company only likes to keep everyone on full-time basis on the position I am but my manager agreed to make me part time just up until September 2020 when both my kids will be in school and I can go back to full-time work. However due to coronavirus I was furloughed and now being made redundant. My statutory pay is being calculated on part time basis which I want to check if it's correct. The part time change was only temporary and I've signed a letter from employer confirming this. Now that they are making me redundant shouldn't this be on the basis of permanent contract which was full-time? Any advice would be appreciated as I've never faced redundancy before. Also has anyone ever negotiated redundancy pay as partner says I'm being paid peanuts for 6 years of service.

Redundancy is based on your current working hours, so in your case part time. If you had only just gone part time you might have had an argument but I think with a year you are pushing your luck a bit.
You only generally can negotiate redundancy when they are looking for volunteers rather then it purely being a money saving exercise.1 -
Thanks sharpe106. I thought that's the case but wanted to check. Feeling a bit low but will have to get started on my CV and looking for work.0
