Ryan Air false "No Flight Change Fee"

Ryanair has been advertising that they will not charge for flight changes in July & August travel providing the booking was made after June 10th. The front page of their website says so, and when booking new flights it also reminds you. They say you will only be charged for fare difference.
However, I am currently looking to change a flight which is £5 more than my current booking, and somehow I am being asked to pay £50: £5 for difference and £45 for flight change! It´s cheaper to let the flight go to waste and book a new one (£30)
During the process I cannot see any way to utilise the "no flight change fee" and I would like to know if anybody has had any luck in doing so. At the moment, it looks like a scam and false advertising, which is surely illegal. I have seen many more people caught out with this for much greater sums of money, and I want to see if it is indeed simply a lie from Ryanair.
I have of course tried customer service but the web chat and phone lines leave you waiting for an eternity, providing no answers.
Thanks in advance.

Have you complied with all the small print at https://www.ryanair.com/gb/en/useful-info/help-centre/faq-overview/promotion-waive-flight-change-fee/waive-flight-change-fee-terms-and-conditions?0

Yep! Thanks for the link to this, but I am indeed complying with all of the above. Anytime I try to change the flight it attempts to charge £45 to do so.
Surely there’s a way to change it for free if they’re advertising so?!1 -
I am having the same issue. It seems that we can only change the dates for free but if we want to change the destination we have to pay the change fee. The information is so misleading and I’m disgusted! It’s £45 each way per person to change the flight destination!0

It is clearly stated on their website FAQ's that the free flight change only applies on the same route. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I tried to change dates (same route) and Ryanair are also trying to charge me £45 flight fee AND to add insult to injury the new flight is £5 cheaper than the original and they are taking this as a 'non refundable fee' - though this is listed in their T&Cs it's still an extra p**s take.Fight the WEF.0

Is the flight you are changing to departing before 31 December 2020?0
