Hi,
I am wondering if I defer my self assessment payment on account will this have any effect on my credit score or any other negative impacts on me?
Thanks
Matt

No, it will have no impact as long as you pay the tax due by 31 Jan 20210

31 January 2021. The deferral is only available for people adversely affected by coronavirus.gt94sss2 said:No, it will have no impact as long as you pay the tax due by 31 Jan 20221 -
Thanks for spotting the typo - I did of course mean 2021!0

No worries. You also should not defer payment if you don't need to.gt94sss2 said:Thanks for spotting the typo - I did of course mean 2021!

Do you need to do notify them or do anything if you’re deferring?0

As far as I'm aware all payments due on Jul 31st are now due on Jan 31st. I certainly didn't request anything and my most recent tax statement received the other week shows July's payment being due in January.0 -
Are you paper filing? Last time I checked mine it still said due July 31st, but with a note below about being allowed to defer.0

No. Online it still says Jul 31st but as I said the last statement received shows it as being deferred until January.ftbhopes said:Are you paper filing? Last time I checked mine it still said due July 31st, but with a note below about being allowed to defer.0
