Youve done very well to get 10yrs from a frost free.
Not sure what these last as I moved after 6 years from previous flat and purchased similar daewoo.
If 10 years is average, then 2021 should be workable for a new fridge freezer.
    Thanks!

I had a Hotpoint Mistral frost free for 15 years and although I had to do some maintenance it was probably the best I've had by far. I'm now fluent in changing baffles, thermistors, evap fans and condenser fans. PS on Hotpoints that plastic in the back of the freezer behind the three drawers I was told by a Hotpoint engineer that although they're technically frost free all that means is that it builds up behind that plastic panel and he said I ought to take the panel off periodically and defrost manually with a hair dryer on a low setting. Worked for me for 15 years!

Maybe I could attempt manual defrost this weekend.

As I said earlier "frost free" just means the frost is out of sight!
Hotpoint were very good but I'm afraid I left them in 2001 ;) & then they were bought by Indesit, so Hotpoint don't actually make anything any more.

Usually very simple to fix.  If it is not draining correctly there can be a build up of ice behind the panels so will need defrosting.  Usually poking a pipe cleaner up the rear drain pipe from outside will clean the hole out otherwise removing the internal panels and poking from the inside will clear it.

If by 'panels' you mean shelves, then, as said at least twice above, this seems to refer to 'no frost'

Yes this was just before that!
It's the same with all refrigeration these days. I sadly recently bought a Grundig (was swayed by the five year warranty). It was faulty from new, I'm waiting in now for it to be collected. Grundig are owned, along with Beko by Arcelik and the parent company is Kok Holding (said with a puerile snigger).
Currently looking at Samsung (same five year warranty) or Bosch

I forgot and purchased more frozen food, it's going to be some time before manual de frost can be done.
The water fault isn't getting any better.
Always these probs when I'm not overspending during 2020!
