Contractual notice period v Redundancy

Options
Hello, my notice period in my current role is 3 months.
There is notice of redundancy unless I want to apply for a lower grade job. I would get x3 times one weeks pay as redundancy , but what I really need to know whether I would get paid during the notice period? I expect it would be 3 months as per my contract. But I'm not sure if it applies in this case?
If anyone has been in similar situation it would be good to know what the outcome was.

it looks attractive to take redundancy payment and 3 months notice - any thoughts appreciated

How long have you worked for the company for?

You should stil get notice period as per the contract.

How much lower paid is the other job? How likely are you to get a new job in the future? As for 3 years redundancy is not a big amount.

Are you suggesting that you won't be working during your notice period?

I've been in a redundancy situation three times but always worked my notice period.

With contractual redundancy of 3x thats 9 weeks pay(worth about 12 weeks net)
the 3 months notice should be paid or worked.
That's close to 6 months net pay or a lower paid job.

    .

It's statutory redundancy so x1 weeks pay for each year worked, not x3 times.

Lower paid job salary has not been confirmed. It would be negotiable.

Assuming you have to work your notice period, I would try to negotiate for the new job. Same pay as you are now for your notice pay then drop to the new pay for the new job. As 3 weeks’ redundancy pay is not a lot and at least you have a job, whilst you look for something else.

3weeks redundancy pay won't go far.

3 months notice to change the pay once agreed.

    Take your time negotiating.
