Others may well have seen this before but new to me. Checking out prices prior to renewal next month I went through quote process on moneysupermarket leaving the voluntary excess at £250 cheapest quote came back at £195 with a total excess of £400. I then did what I usually do edited the voluntary excess to 0 (starting the process of looking for the sweet spot between premium and excess) lowest quote came out at £191 this time with a total excess of £100. This is obviously not a huge saving but a saving none the less so worth taking a minute or two to check for. As I said before new to me but maybe not to others.
