But bank fraud departments may be slower outside working hours, should the payment raise Metal Mickey's brillo-pad eyebrows.

The money doesn't always show up on the recieving account until the next working day.

You could pay in £10K in cash and the bank could still freeze access to it if they suspected fraud, money laundering etc.
Depends how happy you are to wander down the high street with £10K in cash on you...
