For someone that doesn't use garages often the ones you have used are all, without fail, very shoddy. What are the chances of that?fred246 said:If you go on

Click on I am a car owner and enter your details. You will get a picture of your exhaust and it's mountings. I have never had an exhaust fitted by a garage where they have connected ALL the mountings. They leave some unconnected because they can't be bothered. Your exhaust won't fall off immediately if they miss one out. I used to ask to see the exhaust before I paid for it. I would then insist they put all the mountings on. Now I just do it myself. It's cheaper, you know it's done properly and there's no bad feeling.2 -
Little update - car now fully repaired (complete new centre and rear exhaust needed in the end and a single replacement parking sensor) at a cost of £450 all in. Not bad and much less than I had feared - thank you all for your indications here.Agreed yesterday to a new XC40 on a post-lockdown heavily discounted PCP, so will now keep the Mondeo until delivery of the Volvo in August and then sell it on...0

£450 for the use of a car for 2 months is pretty good, plus you'll get something back when the car is sold.
Hope you enjoy the Volvo.0
