Question about form PA15 renounce role of executor

I have a question about form PA15 where you can renounce your powers as executor.
My ex wife and I are both executors for my deceased mum. My ex wife has filled in form PA15, emailed me a scan of the document and is also posting me the original.
Do I need to send this original off to HMCTS Probate or just keep it? The official website does not seem very clear it says you can either send it to the other executor or post it to them. It does not say what the other executor should do with it once received.

You do not need to send the form, just hold on to it. You are almost certainly not going to need it, but it provides you with documented evidence that the other executor has withdrawn if you are ever challenged about it.

It seems to me that the remaining exor should send the original Form PA15 with the application for probate, keeping a copy for his records?

1. Download form PA15 if you’re an executor or form PA16 if you’re the spouse or civil partner
2. Fill in all sections
3. If you’re an executor, tell HMCTS if you’re the sole executor or one of them
4. Sign and date the application
5. Get your witness to sign and date the application
6. Either give the completed form to the executor who’s applying for probate or send it to HMCTS Probate, PO Box 12625, Harlow, CM20 9QE

I was going to comment that not submitting the PA15 as Keep_pedalling said would be so open to abuse. As usual, xylophone's superior searching skills beat me to it

I will send it off to HMCTS Probate and keep the electronic copy then there is an official record of her renouncing her role. Thank you everyone.
