Can I place shares in my own ltd company into an ISA?

I've considering contracting through my own limited company. Is there any reason I can't place the shares from my company into an ISA wrapper?

This isn't possible. Providers of ISAs will allow you to hold the shares of many public companies but they are not going to let you hold your own private limited company. Besides, if this was possible we would all be doing it to avoid paying dividend tax.0

So it's not against the rules it's just that the providers don't provide the service?0

Here is an explanation of what can be held in an ISA:

It is against the rules - unless you're in a position to list your company on a recognised stock exchange.
I believe you can hold unlisted shares in a SIPP though you would need a specialist provider, and you wouldn't be able to withdraw the dividend until you were 55.0 -

They must be bought within the ISA at the open market price. See https://www.gov.uk/guidance/manage-isa-subscriptions-for-your-investors#sub-trans4
