Minecraft Java (TM) platform SE binary is not responding

Using Windows 10 in HP laptop. I purchased Minecraft Java edition. 

Trying to launch it
I used minecraft launcher and it loads for a while, then stops loading, then displays this error message-:
”Java (TM) Platform SE binary
Java (TM) Platform SE binary is not responding 
If you close the program, you might lose information.
Close the program
Wait for the program to respond”
Can anyone on here advise me on how to resolve this please.

Does your PC have Java SE installed? Or does Minecraft Java come with it pre-packaged?

I have a Mercedes. How do I switch the engine on? You'll have to guess which model. Aren't all Mercedes exactly the same?

In response to your post I do have on my pc:-
Java (TM) SE development kit 14.0.1 (64/bit)
Although minecraft launcher in task manager is 32 bit.
does that help ?

Please though,  No haters, No judgements.
Just plain old fashioned help please. Sharing your expertise as I share mine. We’re willing to learn. 
Also can anyone give me a reputable site to download some drivers from please because every free download I find then asks me to pay.
It’s Java 1.16.1 that I’m trying to launch.

According to this you should be using java 8

You may have multiple javas installed and the wrong one is being used.
