Were we mis-sold life insurance?

Sorry, it was my mistake about waiver fee. My wife found out throughout the receipts, that we actually paid a fee of £499 to the mortgage broker at the beginning. During the search for lending offers, they put out this "required" life insurance to sign in order to get the mortgage application approved by the lender.

Sorry, I have to add that my wife found throughout the receipts that we actually paid £499 mortgage broker fee at the beginning of the application. Later on they told us to take life insurance as conditional to be approved by the lender.
