Could anybody give me some advice as to which insurance companies will insure an empty house
with not extortionate premuims, although nobody is staying overnight we are visiting it everyday opening and closing blinds etc.

Why is it empty? (that will help narrow it down)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

my mum has passed away and the policy expired on June 30th. The property has been left to myself and 2 siblings.0

The existing provider will usually continue coverage where the property owner is deceased (i.e. they would renew it). Have you checked with them?

Thanks for your reply, yes we did check with them but they quoted nearly £600, loyalty does'nt pay in this case, my mum had used the same broker for years. Its a tiny 2 bedroomed terraced house worth £250,000.
thanks for your reply.

How long are you anticipating it being empty for? Are you planning to sell or do something else?
As a niche product it isn't going to be cheap but also it is likely insurers will want changes made the longer its empty for (eg boarding up the letterbox) which may not be appealing if you are going to want to try and sell.
Trying different brokers is going to be your best bet.
