    Afternoon all...
I've had a great day today on the cab..it was really busy!!!!...then I came home to my new AMEX card..that was really quick as I only applied last friday...so 5% here we come unfortunately the pin hasn't arrived yet or else I could have earnt £1.35 for the diesel I just purchased...lol...
Also had a bit of a brain wave..my holiday is not due to be paid until november and seeing as I have my tax savings and holiday savings plus a few hundred in an ISA if I save up the difference in a couple of weeks..then I could pay on my CC and get 5% back ....then replace the tax money etc...
So plan is pay for my back door around the 13th march....save up the difference needed for holiday pay on CC then pay in full CC bill..I've already set up a DD for this anyway....then save up for my front windows and door...sorted!!!
    I get 5% for the first 3 months ...
Hope everyone has had a good day

HI taxi. Glad to hear you had a good day on the cab. And well done on the AMEX deal - you're brilliant at working out these schemes.

Do you usually pay your tax on a CC, and if so, which one? I've tried in the past (out of desperation, mind) and they've always said they can't take it.

I've not paid my tax on a CC direct to them but have used the likes of MBNA etc that allow you to balance transfer into your current account...lol..obviously only on 0% deals..thats what I did last year...I think virgin and egg also allow this....
I'm not brilliant at working these out really...I was just thinking as you do...must have a cunning mind lol...it gives me a headache sometimes...lol...I just like to think how can I make money out of this deal..Martin has brainwashed me!!!
I don't intend to have any more debt at any time and went for this one purely as I only get 0.5% on Morgan Stanley and that is always paid off in full...I use it for diesel ,,car repairs , taxi insurance so spend a lot...I don't put my holiday on Ccs but can get the cash together by the next month so might as well just change things about a bit to take advantage....
If you're thinking of CC for julys tax....I would look now as they can take a while...needs to be 0% BT and able to go into a current account...

Good news with the AMEX and the shuffling that it allows you to do to get the cashback etc!!!

I need new windows and doors too......might have to add into my signature as well for motivation, although I just gave DS a choice between skiing and a new window (his doesn't fit, so the wind whistles through greatly) and he obviously chose the skiing  - enough said :rotfl:
