We quite like planes, have been in the area a few times at different times of the day and heard the planes fly pass, this is the middle of the runway so noise is not that bad.
We also plan to redecorate the whole house, will easily cost us around 25k to 30k to bring it into 2020. Hence the question about offer.

Hope you like plane spotting as that is just about as close as you can get to the runway.
Not for me, I would need to completely redecorate every room.

Be warned noise depends on wind direction. Planes taking off are much louder than ones landing and the direction they take depends on the wind. I found this out when I bought a house which was underneath the Heathrow flight path if the wind was from the East, couldn't hear ourselves talking if we were outside and pretty noisy inside. When the wind was southerly or westerly we never heard a peep. Could see them landing though.

Also bear in mind the air traffic at Birrminghhami s much lower than normal at the moment.
  • You also need to consider how much other people like planes, in case you want to sell in future. To overcome the worry about that location I'd have to absolutely love the house and the price and it would have to very clearly meet my criteria. Otherwise just look for something similar, anywhere else.

Another another thing to consider is if you have viewed it recently the airport will not be working at full capacity.

Not sure if the street is sought after but its one of the streets where we're looking to buy. I couldn't find much in the area that went recently which could be compared to this property. I believe it was very overpriced to start with, as it needs work, but after testing the waters for few months, the vendors reduced the price. It was reduced t £380k in March, making me puzzled, what to offer as don't want to overpay.
Anything over 300k could be overpaying for this one IMO, do you know the price history, before the 50k drop I mean?
