Garage conversion - which comes first, new window or wall insulation/plaster boardin?

We are looking into converting our garage. The people that lived here before us did a part conversion, removing the garage door, making the front of the garage into a hallway and cloakroom and the remainder of the room is being used as a storeroom with access from a utility room at the rear of the property. We would like to convert the remainder of the room into a gym and my b/f has decided to make this his latest Project. What I would like to know is do we insulate the walls and do the plasterboarding before we have the window put in or do we have the window put into the single layer of brickwork and then add the additional plasterboard/insulation afterwards? Which is the corrct way of going about this? Thank you for your help.

    4. insulate, plasterboard.

    5. Skirtings/ finishes.

Single layer of brickwork is not ideal, for a habitable room.
