Insurance claim?

Car repair bill (normal breakdown, not accident) more than the value of the car. Can I claim against my comprehensive policy for the car as a write off ??

  • No, insurance doesn't cover normal wear and tear, maintenance etc.

The car has been maintained meticulously over its lifetime.
Until now, it appears, when you're choosing to scrap it rather than maintain it. And hoping your insurer will pay for that decision.

No Buddy they just pay out for accidents not mechanical repairs, Whats up with it some cars have manufacturing defects which despite the car being well maintained can happen and thats enough to write a car off especially if it needs an engine replacement. Such as chain breaking, swirl flaps.....

People are caught up in an egotistic artificial rat race to display a false image to society. We want the biggest house, fanciest car, and we don't mind paying the sky high mortgage to put up that show. We sacrifice our biggest assets our health and time, We feel happy when we see people look up to us and see how successful we are”

You won't be able to claim on the car insurance policy.
However, if the car has been "meticulously maintained" then you may be able to claim against warranty cover or against garage for shoddy workmanship.
What type of car, how old, and how many miles?  What needs to be done now to fix the car?
