Chased for a debt not showing on Credit Report

Hi.
I received numerous emails that I've only just come across from IMFS for approx. £70 in relation to an old car insurance policy I took out in 2016, I changed address and was unaware there was an outstanding balance until a came across emails in my spam folder.
There is nothing showing in terms of a default/arrears for this on my credit report using all of the credit reference agencies, they have offered 50% to bring a close to the matter which I've just paid, they said with will be marked as partially settled - My question is. will a new entry now be made on my credit report?
Thanks in advance.

Im guessing but I suspect you wont see anything on your credit report after settling if there was nothing before. For the sake of £45 I think you did the right thing for peace of mind. You never know which silly little debt could turn into a CCJ1

Yes, that was my worry, I questioned he debt to which they came back with details about a previous car insurance policy from 2106. you never know what some of the collection agencies may do, so wanted to get it cleared. Thanks for the advice, i'll keep an eye on my report0
