I need help with the address for DWP please. 

As you may know form another thread of mine - about NI/ESA, there is a fit note needs posting in - but no prepaid envelope has arrived.

I have googled and according to what do they know Freepost ESA Hull 17 should suffice

Can that just be written on an envelope and make its way there or does the address need to be the above plus the ESA Mail handling site address below?

I am bit concerned as without the Free Post xxxx-xxxx-xxxx it won't get there?

The Freepost addresses do work. It's a shorthand for which mail opening centre to direct correspondence to.

If you want the full address for Freepost ESA Hull 17 it's:

Freepost ESA Hull 17
Mail Handling Site A
Wolverhampton
WV98 2AG

The Royal Mail will know where to send it to, which is basically a mail opening centre. However by using just the Freepost address it costs nothing for postage.

The link in tomtom256's post is a good way of quickly sending in a fit note though it does require you to have access to a scanner or a smart phone or tablet to take a picture of the fit note.
