Hi all, long story short and without going into all the details of my financial history/personal life, I find myself a bit confused with this.
I took out a credit card with Barclaycard in 2013. After a period of time I couldn't keep up with repayments and the account defaulted. First default recorded by Barclaycard in October 2014 according to Equifax & Experian. The account itself was sold to Hoist Portfolio (I am awaiting them confirming the date of when) who have confirmed a 'legal transfer' of the account between Barclaycard and themselves has taken place. That's okay, it sucks that it's happened but it is what it is. It's taken me a while to deal with it and I am about to pay this eventually.
So Hoist Portfolio bought this account from Barclaycard and registered the default against my credit file, which I assume is standard practice. However The Barclaycard account still shows on my credit file;
Experian (via MSE Credit Club) shows the Barclaycard account as last updated on 06/08/2017 and with a £0 balance and the status as 'Default/Ended'
TransUnion (via CreditKarma) doesn't show the account at all in open or closed accounts.
Equifax shows the Barclaycard account as 'Settled' on May 2015 and was last updated on 15/04/2015. (I presume this is when the account was purchased?)
Now the Hoist portfolio account shows up on my credit file too, with the balance remaining which I owe them (again, fine, I expected this)
Experian have this from 34 months ago with last update on the 21/06/2020
TransUnion have registered the default from April 2018 with last update on 10/06/2020
Equifax have this from April 2015, and it has not been updated since 04/12/2018
I'm just confused as to whether the Barclaycard account should still be on my credit file at all or if it hasn't been updated properly or whatever. I understand that Hoist should be and is but I'm hoping one of you guys may be able to clarify the matter for me and if I need to do anything (aside from pay Hoist the balance - which I am about to do!)
I also have a general question on whether there any companies/people out there who take a look at credit files and go through them with a fine toothcomb incase I've missed anything obvious in my clearing up, and if so can someone point me in the right direction (quite happy to do this online).
Thanks in advance.
