Hi could anyone offer advice please I had originally booked flights for my disabled wife , daughter and myself thru travel by inspire using a family fund voucher to travel this month. Because of the ongoing virus threat we contacted travel by inspire over a month ago to change the flights to next year to be told we had to wait till 14 days before our departure date which is today . I have rang them and given new details to which he has informed me easyJet will charge us for flight change this only happens if we change our flight 14 days before our departure before then it is free to change online 😠 is this scam to get some fee from customers surely the vulnerable and disabled should be looked after ...... Thanks in advance

If you were to look to book the same flights on the Easyjet website today are they showing as available or 'sold out'. If the latter I would do nothing yet as this appears to be an indicator of flights that will be cancelled in the next few days.
Not sure it is a scam...the change fee is being charged by the airline not the agent. It was not the airline that told you to wait till 14 days before. Sounds more like the agent did not appreciate that you would be disadvantaged by waiting.1 -
Hi Andy, Do you mean you were given incorrect advice? Did you look on-line at your account section to see what they were saying? Honestly, don't think it would be a scam but I do think some telephone agents haven't a clue (could have been drafted in). If this was via an on-line chat, did you take a snapshot? If not, then you can't prove what was said - sorry to say.
I am not sure that any of it is correct. Have you checked the terms and conditions you agreed to? Easyjet have always charged to change flights so I would be surprised if they had waived the fees for future flights such as yours. It is a different story for those flights that had been cancelled. Nobody knows if your flight will go ahead yet or not so I think yes there would have been a charge even if you changed it 2 months ago. (could be wrong but I can't see it somehow)
So now you have a decision to make whether to sit tight and see if your flight is cancelled or pay to amend it (I don't think the charges to change are astronomical but appreciate everyone's circumstances different)? If paying to amend it two days before is no different to amending today I think I would sit tight and hope it is cancelled. Of course, the other option is you can actually go?

It sounds like you were given incorrect information. Currently you can change your easyJet flight free of charge up to 14 days before departure. After 14 days it's £32 per person per flight. Your problem (and mine too) may be that easyJet haven't released flights after 31 May 21 yet to rebook onto.1

How would it be a "scam" when the fee goes to the airline and not the agent? People bandy that word around a lot on here.0
