Money sent to closed account after end of switch service period

Hi all,
In a bit of a pickle. I swapped banks 3 years ago and began to receive some regular money by the switch service. Because of this I never got around to actually swapping by bank details with the people sending my money. 🤦 I should of received a payment this month but haven't, obviously because the switch period has ended. I've read that banks forward new details to say they have been changed but obviously this hasn't happened in my case. I've also read payments can bounce back if is a closed account? Not sure what to do! Apart from I've contacted the money sender.

The three years isn't a fixed period. It's three years from the date any payments were last sent to the old account, so if you've been receiving this payment regularly, it will continue to be redirected until three years after you've last received it.

That's not quite right - after the initial three year period has expired, redirections continue until a 13-month period passes without any.

Sounds to me it has not been sent - OP needs to chase them up.
