Unsure what to do regarding hotel balance due

Hi,

I am due to go to Greece in the first week of August. With Greece having now banned the UK from travelling there, I’m unsure what to do regarding the hotel balance that we have left to pay.

The balance will be due in a couple of weeks. Hopefully something will change by then, but I am unable to get through to Travel Republic as the phones are off, and I’m getting no response on my support request

The balance will be taken automatically as per the booking. So Im not really sure what to do if the situation doesn’t change?

Do you want to go? If you want to go you might as well pay and if it is cancelled you would then get a refund. If you do not want to go you can either cancel now and pay the normal cancellation or hope the flights are cancelled closer to the time or you can claim on your travel insurance which would be unlikely.

Have you checked if your hotel is open? Ours is closed (as are 5 out of 6 in the chain). I only found out by looking myself on the hotel website. We’re now getting a refund from Jet2 due to this reason.
